Mixed weekend for Guelph United: an impressive win for our women’s team at Alliance United, and a controversial loss for the men against Burlington SC.

Despite some solid performances, both our teams return with tough, frustrating losses this weekend in Vaughan, in games in which we played well, but weren’t able to obtain any points.

Our Guelph United teams were back in action this weekend. And, despite different results - our men’s team won at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, while the women lost against NDC Ontario - both matches offered plenty of reasons for optimism.

Today, a new League1 Ontario season kicks off, and we put together a quick preview for you to be up to speed with everything you need to know before supporting your Guelph United in 2024!

As revealed earlier this week, Guelph United, which is part of the top-tier Premier Division for both our men’s and women’s teams, will make their new season debut on April 26th.

Guelph United’s men’s team will kick off their 2024 home schedule with a match in Cambridge, on the grounds of our new affiliate Oriental Sport Club.

League1 Ontario announced the brackets of the reborn L1 Cup, a knockout competition that will run in parallel with the leagues, and will feature all the teams in the L1O system, regardless of which tier they are part of.

Guelph United Women is happy to announce we have signed defender Haley Ward for the 2024 season. We have also re-signed defender Alanna Starcevic to a new deal.

GUFC Women has signed former Electric City FC midfielders Marisa Oliveira and Angelika Mihalopulos for the 2024 season.

The roster for our GUFC women’s team is starting to take shape. Today, we are happy to announce we re-signed another 2 players for the new season: Jyanessa Sealy and Sydney VanderHoef.

Midfielder Caitlin Crichton and goalkeeper Breanne Carreiro will join Guelph United Women, after Electric City folded following the 2023 season.
