Robart and Oakley, finalists for the League1 Ontario Awards
League1 Ontario recently announced the finalists for its year-end awards, and Guelph United has 2 players on the lists from which the Player of the Year winners will be decided: Carter Robart and Amardo Oakley.
GUFC year-end Banquet and Awards, set for November 17th at the Cutten Fields
Guelph United will celebrate a successful 2023 season on November 17th, with a banquet in which we will also present our annual awards to our best players. Fans can now purchase tickets to the event.
Guelph United partners with Fleetwood Town for youth talent camp in England
Guelph United FC is announcing a Talent Identification program, in partnership with English League One side Fleetwood Town FC, that will see at least one under-21 Canadian player be invited to an extensive, all expenses paid, training camp at the Fleetwood Town International Academy, in England.
Zach Ellis-Hayden, called up by Barbados for Nations League games
Zach Ellis-Hayden got called up by the Barbados national team for the upcoming games in the new edition of the CONCACAF Nations League. Barbados will be hosting Montserrat on Friday September 8, and then will be heading to Nicaragua on Monday September 11.
Vasconcelos signs development contract with Halifax Wanderers
Halifax Wanderers, who invited Vasconcelos for a week-long trial earlier this year, signed him on a development deal for the rest of the 2023 Canadian Premier League season.
Defensive mishaps cost Guelph in playoff loss
Guelph United lost last night against 2022 champions Vaughan Azzurri, 2-0, in a tightly contested playoff quarter-final. A couple of defensive mishaps cost our team the 2 goals which ended our 2023 season.

After a one year absence, your Guelph United is back in the League1 Ontario playoffs. We are facing Vaughan Azzurri tonight, in the quarter finals, in a matchup of the last 2 League1 Ontario champions. The game kicks off at 8 PM, in Vaughan, at the North Maple Regional Park.

Colin Gander’s 97th minute game winner clinches a playoff spot for Guelph United. In the first round, we will be heading to Vaughan, to face 2022 champions Azzurri.
Guelph United misses first chance to clinch playoffs
After a hard fought, back and forth game against Woodbridge Strikers at the Centennial Bowl yesterday afternoon, Guelph United could only manage a 2-2 draw that sees our team have to wait another week to clinch the League1 Ontario playoffs. On Sunday at 5.30 PM, we will host ProStars FC in the deciding match.
Two big home games coming up for GUFC
These next 2 Sundays, our men’s team is hosting Woodbridge Strikers and ProStars FC at the Centennial Bowl, in the last 2 matches of the regular season.
Win both games, and we’re in the playoffs. And if we get some external help, we might actually host the first round.

After a tense final against Woodbridge Strikers at the Ontario Soccer Centre, Guelph United managed to get the hard-fought 1-0 win, and become the new League1 Ontario U21 champions!
U21 Final tickets are now on sale
Guelph United and Woodbridge Strikers meet on Friday, 8 PM, at the Ontario Soccer Centre, in the U21 Final. Tickets for Guelph fans are now on sale for the reduced price of $5.
Our U21 team qualifies to the L1O final!
Guelph United U21 is through to the League1 Ontario final, after a 2-2 draw, followed by a penalty shootout win against ProStars FC! Both our goals were scored by Aiden Borges.
Guelph United U21 host playoff semifinal tomorrow evening
After winning the Southwest Division of League1 Ontario, our U21 team is kicking off the playoffs tomorrow evening, when we are hosting the first semifinal matchup, against ProStars FC. The game will kick-off at 8.45 PM, at Eastview Park. Admission is FREE.
Guelph Union clinches spot in 2024 League1 Ontario Premier Division!
The good news keep coming!
After last night our men’s U21 team won the Southwest Division and clinched a playoff spot, it’s now the Union’s turn to accomplish their biggest objective for the season: we have clinched the 10th and final spot for next year’s Premier Division!
Our U21 team wins Southwest division and qualifies for playoffs
Guelph United U21 is the first of our teams clinching their spot in the playoffs. After an impressive season in which they won 9 out of the 14 matches, our U21 team won the Southwest division, and is now waiting to find out their semifinal opponent.
Two games, two draws for our teams on Sunday
It was a tale of two games, two draws, but different consequences for our teams on Sunday, both against the same opponent, Burlington SC.
Union wins again, but path to playoffs is difficult
Guelph Union followed up their impressive win in Hamilton with another victory, 1-0 against a solid North Mississauga SC side, last night at the Centennial Bowl.
However, with 2 games to go in the regular season, the chances to make the playoffs decreased, after a few out-of-town results did not favor our side. As for the race for the 2024 Premier Division, the odds are better, but we still rely on other teams dropping points.
The weekend of our biggest wins of the year
Both our teams went on the road this weekend, and returned with convincing wins, the largest of the season.
Our men’s team headed to Scarborough, and defeated Master’s FA 6-0. Meanwhile, the women got the job done in Hamilton, a 4-1 win that keeps our team alive in the playoff race.

What was only a matter of time, after our men’s team followed up a good 2022 season with an even better 2023, is now officially confirmed: Guelph United will be part of next year’s League1 Ontario Premier division.
